DRMC sponsors free support group for dementia caregivers

Dardanelle Regional Medical Center and Alzheimer's Arkansas are teaming up to create a new support group to provide help for caregivers of dementia patients, beginning July.5.

Tiffany Horton, a certified Alzheimer’s Arkansas facilitator, will lead a free Dementia Caregiver Support Group sponsored by Dardanelle Regional Medical Center for family members affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Beginning July 5, the group will be held the first Tuesday of each month from 5:00-6:00 pm at the Dardanelle Community Center, located at 2011 State Highway 22 in Dardanelle.

“We are very thankful for Tiffany’s dedication to dementia patients in Yell County and throughout the River Valley. This is a needed support service for caregivers and their loved ones,” said Alan Finley, President of Dardanelle Regional Medical Center. “This is a great example of how the employees at Dardanelle Regional are reaching out to community to improve the quality of the health care services that are available in Yell and surrounding counties.”
